Welcome to my watercolor painting site! I hope you enjoy my paintings as much as I've enjoyed painting them! I'd like to interject a small story of my journey as a watercolor artist. After watching my father draw horse heads as a small child, I was in awe and it spurned me to want to be an artist. Ever since I was in elementary school, I took art classes and I always wanted to work for Walt Disney Studios. However, I got caught up in the work race after high school and other things of the world took my interest(i.e..women and partying). Although I took a few college art courses, my art career took a turn to no art career at all, especially after my last art professors stated that; "since art was going to be all computerized, there will be no need for the traditional artist.". So, I finished that class and didn't go back. On my own, I was working with the "wet-on-wet" oil colors technique in the 80's after watching William Alexander and Bob Ross(you know the guy that paints the happy little trees and happy little clouds) and once again, working eventually hindered my art career.
My grandmother passed away around the year 2000 and I inherited some of her art supplies, but I didn't do anything with them. I had shoulder surgery in March of 2009 and lost my job of 18 years, a month later. During that time since money was slow coming in, I picked up oil painting once again and I did a wet-on-wet painting for my mother as a Christmas gift. Thus I was back into art once again. I posted a picture of that painting on my facebook page and a friend, who is a Christian and also paints with watercolor, suggested that I should try watercolor painting. I was reluctant to try watercolor because I had heard that it was a difficult medium to perfect. She told me that it's "only paper" and to "just try it!". When I had originally went through them, I had noticed that my grandmother's art supplies, that I inherited years ago, had some watercolor paints included. So I took my facebook friend's advice and thus my watercolor journey began. Thank you Lisa Mann! Though it hasn't been very easy, I now love watercolor painting and I will never again go back to "wet-on-wet" oil painting(that's if the Lord doesn't change that). As the Bible states; God can use all things for good, for those who love Him and are called according to His purposes! Romans 8:28-29
My desire with this site is to share with the world what God has done through my hands. I cannot believe what my hands can create and I give the Lord Jesus Christ all the glory in what I can accomplish through art, because I could not have done any of this without His help and guidance. I stand in awe at times when I look at my paintings and I can't help but praise the Lord! I am selling prints of my work and I can also be commissioned to do a special piece. However, I DO NOT paint people. I've never been very good at painting people, so I will not attempt to paint them now. (that's only if the Lord doesn't change that too) I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me! Philippians 4:13
There is a "contact" form at the end of your journey(last page) on my website if you'd like to buy a print that you see on the next page. You can also have an original painting done and in some cases, I will sell an original painting. Please be sure to leave me a note at the end of your journey on this site.
Thanks and may my God richly bless you according to His riches in glory through Christ Jesus! Philippians 4:19
